Early on in my life I knew I wanted to be an artist. I would sit for hours and draw. I would mostly use pens and colored pencils. As a young adult I became interested in scuba diving. This opened up a whole new world to me. I purchased a camera so I can take photos of my adventures in the water and on land. My goal was to use these images as a reference for my artwork. I soon discovered that I really enjoyed photography and delved head first into my new medium. I haven't looked back since.
I started working in a portrait studio so I can learn more about photography. 15 years later I decided I had enough of portrait and wedding photography. I wanted to create artwork that showed the world what I loved to explore, so I went into nature and wildlife. My artwork has evolved over the years. I have went back to my artistic roots in a way and have been playing with creating digital paintings of my photographs, a technique that I call "Paintography".
I hope you enjoy my artwork as I strive to continually present the world the way I see it.
Thank you,
Anthony Jones
